In Traditional Chinese Medicine, diet, nutrition and eating habits are as important (if not more so!) as therapies such as acupuncture and herbal medicine. Alongside looking at dietary basics like vitamins, minerals and macronutrients, Chinese medicine nutrition focuses on the energetic qualities of food you’re eating – taking into consideration properties such as the temperature, taste, colour and nature/season of foods. Chinese dietary advice is often given in our treatments, and comes from a holistic perspective in line with your unique treatment, your bodily constitution and seasonal/location factors. Recipes are so important for your own self-healing toolkit and we encourage you to get creative in the kitchen!
Occasionally, nutritional supplements are beneficial in cases of nutrient deficiencies. We stock a wide variety of some of the best brands of nutritional supplements available, if this is indicated in your unique situation.
Please note: Chinese Medicine Nutrition & Food Therapy is not offered as a stand alone treatment. It is only included as part of your acupuncture session when your practitioner deems it appropriate.
